A classic single-cut body set up for a Bigsby instead of a string-through bridge. Blank: 16" × 13" × 2". Fixture: 22" × 16"

Part of the Julia Guitars mix-and-match system. The neck pocket is sized for the Julia Guitars Bolt-On Neck only. It isn't designed to fit off-the-shelf or aftermarket necks (Fender, Warmoth, Allparts, etc.). Pair it with the round square neck and either 9.5 fretboards.

Why our files are different: most guitar CAD files sell the model only, and you program the toolpaths yourself. Ours ship with the exact setups, toolpaths, fixtures and tool library we use to cut these parts in our shop.

Requirements:

  • Autodesk Fusion with the Manufacture workspace, to open, edit and post the CAM
  • A 3-axis CNC router big enough for the largest fixture you'll cut:
    • Neck: 31" × 10"
    • Offset body: 28" × 16.75"
    • T-style body: 22" × 16"
  • Working knowledge of Fusion CAM: setting the WCS, selecting your post-processor and checking toolpaths in simulation

Tools used (all in the included library): 1/4" upcut and downcut flat end mills, 1/4" ball end mill, 1/8" and 1/16" flat end mills, 1/8" and 1/16" drills, 0.023" fret-slot cutter, 30° and 90° engraving bits, and a single-flute plastic-cutting bit for pickguards. Substitute equivalents and update feeds and speeds for your machine.

Machine note: toolpaths were programmed and cut on our machine with the Carbide 3D post-processor. Re-post for your controller, and dry-run or air-cut before cutting good wood.
